What Is Psypact?

**Telehealth Assessments are only offered to individuals aged 13 and up. The use of a full-size laptop or tablet is required, along with a microphone, headset, and webcam to enable smooth communication.**

The client and their parents complete several online measures before the appointment, which provide a behavioral overview and targeted areas of concern. This information helps identify the types of difficulties a person is experiencing, how they manage them in their daily life, and other factors that may be at play.

The client and parent will complete a thorough intake to learn more about the client’s current and historical functioning and how they experience sensory and social events. We will also ask you to sign releases for schools, therapists, doctors, and other individuals who may be able to give helpful information to inform the assessment process.

Testing may occur over one or several telehealth sessions, depending on the referral question. For example, separate sessions will be used to look at cognitive, memory/executive, and academic functioning as needed. This information will be analyzed and written into a report with clear conclusions and recommendations, following a neuro-diversity affirmative approach.

When the report is completed, a feedback session will be scheduled. This includes an explanation of results, recommendations, and next steps for suggested follow-up. The goal is that by the end of this process, the individual has a clear understanding of their strengths and difference, and some resources to explore them in a safe and supportive environment.

List of current states with PsyPact legislation

PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows psychologists licensed in PSYPACT to practice telepsychology and/or practice temporarily into other PSYPACT participating states. In order to practice telepsychology under the authority of PSYPACT, a psychologist must have an active Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) granted from the PSYPACT Commission.

Increasing Access to Mental Health Care Across State Lines

PSYPACT - The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact - was formed to facilitate telehealth and temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of mental health services across state lines. It’s essentially an agreement between participating states that allows licensed psychologists to practice in any of those states as long as they hold a license in one of them. That means that Dr. Roginsky can now offer psychological assessment services to adolescents and adults in many states nationwide using a secure telehealth platform. In addition to the PSYPACT states listed below, Dr. Roginsky is also licensed in New York State.

Which Professionals Can Join PSYPACT?

Currently, only doctoral-level, licensed psychologists can utilize PSYPACT to provide treatment and assessment across state lines. To join PSYPACT, psychologists must complete a rigorous application process to verify their credentials and experience to ensure good standing in their profession.
